KNAP! Faster recvery after knee prosthesis
Orthopaedic Center Maxima has introduced a faster, safer and more enjoyable rehabilitation program for all patients after a knee prosthesis operation. It is called KNAP (KNee Active Program). Patients walk across the ward only hours after their surgery. KNAP is supervised by a knee team consisting of an orthopaedic surgeon, physiotherapist, anaesthesiologist and nursing staff. Patients report a very fast recovery and enjoy being active so quickly after the surgery.
The movie demonstrates a patient in the operating room, 2 minutes after a total knee arthroplasty surgery. He can actively bend en extend his knee as well as elevate the operated leg right after the surgery.
